In a heart-wrenching incident, a speech and hearing impaired couple committed suicide by self-immolation in Nalgonda district of Telangana in the early hours of Thursday.

The young couple recorded a selfie video in sign language before their death, conveying that they decided to kill themselves.

Their charred bodies were found by police in-the wee hours after they sent their video and location to friends, who informed police.

''Both Shaik Mastan Ali and N Ashwini were working in the packing division of an e-commerce giant and six months ago, the woman went missing. A missing person complaint was filed at woman police station of Hyderabad," a police official said.

While Shaik Mastan Ali (27), a native of Andhra Pradesh's Guntur, was married, 20-year-old Ashwini, a native Telangana's Nizamabad was unmarried.

They both were living separately in Mehndi Pattanam area of Hyderabad.

They went missing on Monday after which Ashwini's family lodged a missing complaint. While they both had their mobile phones switched off on Wednesday night, they shared a last video with their friends on a WhatsApp group and later shared their location too.

In a bid to save the couple, their friends tried reaching to the location in Nalgonda from Hyderabad via a hired cab but found that they were dead already.

Police have registered a case over the incident and further probe is underway.
