Suryapet: In a tragic incident, a deaf and dumb person was killed after his house collapsed due to sudden burst of air compressor. The incident happened at Lingampally village of Nutankal mandal in the district on Thursday.
According to SI Lingam, the victim, Shaik Kasim (55), has been running vehicle servicing center for the last many years. As usual on Thursday morning, he switched on the air compressor and turned off after a few minutes. However, the compressor burst due to increased air pressure.
Due to the sound impact, the roof and walls of the first room of the house collapsed killing Kasim on the spot. Kasim’s neighbour, Somamma, also suffered minor injuries as the wall of her house was also partially damaged.
Kasim is survived by wife and two daughters. After receiving information, Nutankal police rushed to the spot.
After completing all formalities, they shifted the dead body to government hospital for post-mortem. Based on the complaint of family members of the deceased, the police registered a case and took up the investigation.
