Sit & Wait struggle ends

The "sit & wait" struggle organised by TARATDAC comes to an end in the evening today after talks the social welfare minister Smt. B. Valarmathy

She assured to take steps to withdraw the stringent norms in giving monthly maintenace allownce for disabled. She also promised to give allowance throu the dept of differently abled instead of revenue. The increased allowance of Rs.1500 for mentally disabled and severely disabled would be given forthwith from April by disab dept with the arrears.

In the matter of employment and disab certificates, she assured to hold discussion with the concerned depts and assured positive results.

With these assurances the sit & wait was broght to an end. The Dy Director of disab dept along with the Chennai dist welfare offices came to the pandhal and conveyed the words of the minister.
