The differently-abled have showed their mettle once again. In Chennai district, the total number of blind candidates who appeared for the exam was 55. Barring one, others were successful. In the aurally challenged category, 87 of the 120 students passed. Alos, 32 of the 36 physically challenged candidates came out with flying colours.
Little Flower Convent for the Visually Impaired on GN Chetty Road in T Nagar recorded 100 per cent pass. At the School for the Deaf, 27 students passed and one failed. At the Government Higher Secondary School for the Blind at Poonamallee, the institution had achieved a pass percentage of 86 per cent. At the MGR Home & HSS for the Speech and Hearing Impaired at Ramapuram, all 20 students passed with E Brindha (892/1,000) emerging as Kancheepuram district topper.
