Jalandhar, May 12
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today visited the Red Cross Senior Citizens Home and the school for deaf and dumb. The DC took a stock of arrangements at the school and home. He also interacted with inmates of the home.
Besides checking the quality of food, medical facilities, boarding and lodging facilities in the school’s hostel, Sharma also instructed the authorities to ensure 24-hour health check-up facilities at the school.
He directed the officials of the Powercom to ensure the round-the-clock power supply to the two institutes.
The DC also listened to the grievances of senior citizens and children. He directed the officials address their grievances at the earliest.
ADC (General) Gurmeet Singh, Red Cross secretary Paramjeet Singh and SDO Panchayati Raj Parminder Beri were also present with the DC.
