The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thurday arrested a 12-year-old speech and hearing impaired boy from Pakistan who appeared to have crossed the border inadvertently near Beriar outpost in this sector in Punjab.
The BSF also found a Rs 20 Pakistani note with the boy, who was wearing an embroidered kurta, traditionally worn in the neighbouring country.
“It appeared that the child inadvertently crossed over in the wee hours. He has been handed over to Punjab Police,” a BSF official said.
A case has also been registered against him.
Police said they would try to ascertain his identity with the help of a teacher from a school for the speech and hearing impaired in Faridkot.
