City youth Yashvir Goyal (17) has won first position in the hearing impaired category of the National IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities. He is all set to represent the country in Vietnam.
He has won the competition, which was organised by the National Institute of Technology (NIT). It was held on July 20-21 at Kurukshetra in Haryana.
Yashvir Goyal is the only one who has been selected from Punjab to represent the country at an international event called Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities.
He has been suffering from hearing impairment since birth and he cannot speak.
While talking to Bathinda Tribune, Yashvir said he was elated on winning the competition and is eagerly waiting to participate in Vietnam.
He said total four candidates from across the country had been selected to represent India.
At the national level, the contest involved e-designing, use of e-tools and creativity challenge, he added.
Yashvir is the son of former state information commissioner Chander Parkash.
