The district administration will soon start the vocational training for the students of Red Cross School for deaf and dumb in the district.
Addressing the gathering, during the sports day function, held at Red Cross School for Deaf and Dumb here today, organised on the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, SDM-II, Paramvir Singh said vocational training would enhance the skills of students and help them to get employment.
He said medical camps would be held regularly at the school to facilitate students to help them overcome the challenges in daily life.
The SDM hailed the representatives of Samarparan, an NGO, for playing an instrumental role in organising the event. He assured fulsome support and co-operation to the NGO for the cause. SDM II, accompanied by secretary, Red Cross, Paramjeet Singh, among others, distributed prizes among students.
Members of the NGO, Anita Sehgal, Priya Anand, Suruchi Kakkar, Manorama Mayor, Dolly Mahajan, Shweta Monga, Vanita Manocha, Sarita Kapoor, Harjeet Kaur, Kajal Kapoor, Kirpal Kaur, among others, were present.
