* The disability certificate given by the state differs district to district and it makes lot of confusion to avail benefits for disabled.
* In Chennai and other one or two districts an A-4 sized disability certificate along with old type pass book in blue colour is being given by the govt for the past 2 years.
* But, the old type blue colour pass book alone still given by the state as pass book in many districts.
* It makes lot of confusion among disabled and stake holders.
* In Tamilnadu, there is a facility to avail concessional fare in the state run transport busses against giving xeroxed copies of the disab certificate.
* But the conductors of the state run busses refused to accept the new type disab certificate, since they were not sensitised.
* TARATDAC demands the State Commissioner for the Disabled to take immediate action to give a single type of certificate throughout the sate to avoid the confusion and also demand to action through the senior officials of the transport department to sensitise the conductors about the new certificate.
