Madonna school students win overall championship

Madonna Deaf and Dumb Educational Institute medalists with Principal Mercy, HM Selin Mary and others

10.11.2016, Madonna school for Deaf and Dumb educational institutions students won Overall Championship by bagging medals in state level deaf and dumb sports tournament which was concluded at CD Naidu stadium in Visakha Steel city recently.

State sports federation of the deaf and dumb was conducted the second deaf dumb sports meet. Madonna school students exhibited good talent and won gold, silver and bronze medals in the event.

According to the Madonna deaf and dumb educational institutions principal and correspondent Sister Mercy, the students bagged 44 gold, 18 silver and 17 bronze medals. The students flourished in Volleyball, Athletics, Ball Badminton, Javelin Throw, Badminton, and Discus Throw events, she said.

Further she said that Madonna educational institute has been working for sports development. She urged the government to give proper support to the deaf and dumb students.

In this connection the school management felicitated the medalists at school premises at Gunadala in the city on Wednesday. School Head Master S Mary, Physical Education teacher (PET) K Rama Mohana Rao and others participated in the programme.
