Hyderabad: Two friends who were allegedly deaf and mute ended their lives in Hyderabad's Nalgonda district soon after they sent a selfie video of themselves to a WhatsApp group. The two persons set themselves ablaze on Thursday.
The two deceased were identified as Sheikh Mastanvali and N Ashwini. Both the deceased used to work at a logistic company in Hyderabad.
Both Ashwini and Mastanvali used to stay in different rooms in Mehdipatnam. Reportedly, the two friends had gone missing on Monday. When Ashwini's family members learned that she had gone missing, they approached the Humayun Nagar police and lodged a complaint.

While investigating the case, the police learned that Ashwini's coworker was also missing. The mobile phones of the two deaf and mute friends had also been switched off and they had visited Nagarjunasagar along with neighbouring areas.
On Wednesday night, the two friends switched on their mobile phone and recorded a video in sign language. The two friends sent the video to a WhatsApp group of their friends who are also deaf and mute, The Times of India reported.
In the video, the two friends said that no one was responsible for their deaths and they wanted to end their lives due to their personal reasons. After receiving the video, some of the friends tried calling the two but in vain. At 2.30 am on Thursday, Ashwini and Mastanvali shared their location on the group.
