Centre to ascertain reasons for deaf-dumb population in Doda's village

24.05.2016, Centre today assured to find out reasons behind deaf-dumb population in a remote village of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.''A team from Centre will soon visit Dhadkai village of Doda and find out the reasons why most of the people born in the village are deaf and dumb,'' Harshvardhan Singh, Union Minister for Science and Technology here told reporters at a press conference during a video conferencing.Mr Singh said that whether it is due to some climatic condition or medicine effect will be ascertained only after conducting survey and thorough study. Pertinent to mention here that people mostly in village Dhadkai including newly born are deaf and dumb.
