State Bank of India Tuesday donated an amount of Rs 2.36 crores for rehabilitation of speech and hearing impaired and physically challenged children for the welfare of the inmates of Voluntary Medicare Society.
State Bank of India has in the past conducted various CSR activities like blood donation and medical check-up camps, drug de addiction camps, tree plantation drives, donation of fans, water purifiers and computers to schools of the valley.
Managing Director (National Banking Group) State Bank of India Rajnish Kumar, along with Chief General Manager Anil Kishora, and General Manager, NW-III,LHO Chandigarh Kumar Rajan visited Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) to make donations.
VMS is dedicated to the care, treatment and rehabilitation of the physically and mentally challenged persons.
VMS will organise camps in schools and in community to aware and identify the persons having speech and hearing impairment. The hearing aids will be provided to beneficiaries as per their type and degree of hearing loss.
Rajnish Kumar also reiterated State Bank of India’s commitment for continuation of its “Corporate Social Responsibility” as a responsible Corporate.
On the occasion, Dr Mir Mohammad Maqbool, founder and President VMS thanked Managing Director and appreciated State Bank's commitment towards care and upliftment of Society.
